MONICA'S REVIEW:
I think just about any episode that could have been shown after last week's stellar episode
would have been a let down. Still, there were many things in this episode that just didn't
work for me. Some just reminded me of something else (like when Beth said that Jeremiah was
"The One", I immediately thought of the Rangers mantra, "We live for The One, we die for The
One") and other bits of dialog just fell flat (like when Zach said he was going to watch Kurdy
and Jeremiah like a hawk). I also thought that when Kurdy asked to read a history book, it was
just a bit too obvious when he used it to solve a problem later on in the episode.
I did love the beginning with the comments about "Jaws" and "Alien". I laughed when Kurdy
pulled that cross in a little closer after his nightmare. It was so ... Kurdy! The pinball
machine was great and it made sense why the kids took to Jeremaih immediately but it was at the
same time a bit too coincidental.
This episode did make me wonder about the kids in this new world and how they are growing up.
I also thought it was interesting that it was the children (and not the adults) who were the
religious ones and trying to find meaning in this world. I am glad Kurdy tried to straighten
things out for them and was upfront and honest but at the same time, giving them hope.
All in all, not a bad episode but not the greatest one either.

QUESTIONS RAISED:
- Where are the enclaves of Gramercy and Radford located?
- Where did the children's chant come from and what did it mean originally?
- Were the stories about God and Heaven passed around by word of mouth or is it just a
common assumption that humans make in times like this?
- Does it really help people when they drink children's blood or is it just a sign that
they are desperate enough to try anything?
- What kind of blood disease did Magyar have and why did he think it was related to the Big
Death?
